Heron or Crane hand painted and framed

This paintings hung in our living room when I was a child in the 40s/50s. I have kept them as an adult and would love to learn about them... where painted - what style, etc. The frames have mirror and distressed painted layers. It almost looks like paint on paper, but I'm not sure.
