Hello everyone.
A pocket watch for you to have a look at.....It is marked on the face:
Railway Lever
Made expressly for
E.M Woodberry
Deloraine
It measures approx 2" across and is probably silverplate. It appears to be working really well. I have attached it to a lovely hallmarked sterling silver watch chain which was bought at a later date.
The watch is a bit knocked about and the glass is quite scratched, but I think that adds to it's charm......
The picture showing the workings means absolutely nothing to me.....I just love the watches.....and if it works, well that's a bonus!!!
Eric Maitland Woodberry was a watchmaker in Deloraine Tasmania (as was his father before him) .....not a lot of information about him, apart from his WWI enlistment details of 1915, which stated his age at that time was 22 and his occupation was Watchmaker. He returned to Australia in 1919
The last picture shows my little pocket watch as well which I will list on it's own shortly..... Hope you will enjoy seeing them both. Thanks, Judy
