It has been a busy summer and I've not had time to do much thrift store shopping. But! This past Monday, I found a few interesting items that ring like a bell and not a chip in sight!

This is a wedding basket. It is not marked, but I thought it was quite lovely. Actually, I had never see one before. And upon doing research, had never heard of them either. Can anybody fill me in on their purpose? Do they still use them? I've been to a ton of weddings and have yet to see one, thus my lack of knowledge on the subject

It measures 7"h x 8"l x 5"w. It weighs 3.8 pounds. It isn't marked. I have no idea who made such things.

    Thanks for looking!

Well, took these photos with my iPad. First time I posted, they were upside down. So went to photos on pad and flipped them. They are still upside down. LOL. Sorry...I will figure it out.

Edit the pix on the ipad. Just cut off an edge then they will load properly, I think.

This is really lovely......I have a similar one that was a wedding present for my mother and father when they were married in 1948...... I don't remember mum ever using it.....but I have put roses in it once or twice!!!

TassieDevil thank you. I've never seen one, and have no idea what it would be used for. Roses are a good idea! Maybe it was used as a wedding gift. I'll have to ask my Mom.

I think this is Czech crystal. I have got one with a same shape. These baskets are coming in different sizes, some of them small, others are quite big. Probably they are still being made, mine was manufactured before a decade ago or two.

Here is the shape but with different pattern:

martika thank you for your input and sending the link on your basket. It is absolutely stunning! I didn't think it was American, but then again I'm a bit of a novice. Thank you again!
