Found this today in an antique store and with me being an EMT I just had to have it. The only thing I know is it's "very old". No marking of anykind.

It's a great brooch - well done ! One of the jewellery boffins will know more :)

This is super! Rollover safety clasps were introduced in the early part of the 1900s. If the rivet hinge is handmade vs. machine made, then it's an oldie. This looks closer to being mid-century to me.

Caduceus Insignia Pin I think is proper name for it.

One if the prettiest Caduceus Insignia Pin I have ever seen . Looks like WWII era . Very nice find

I think this is a WWII sweetheart brooch, worn by someone whose loved one was a medic.

Hmm thanks everyone for your input. I haven't been able to find it exactly but am not giving up on the search.

Looks like someone painted the wings and maybe not factory painted . I have seen rhinestone pins like this with solid wings . It was not worn I doubt by a medical person to decorative so more like a presentation pin perhaps for a graduation ? I am in medical field and mine was plain . We quit wearing them as part of uniform many years ago .

I knew it wasn't a part of a uniform as I wear caduceus on my uniform everyday. Just didn't know the possible history.

You still wear one ? I am RN and was a para-medic and never wore one . They can scratch patients . In early years we often wore on nurses caps .
