So I saw this glass vase and thought, now that's a vase! Very sparkly and bright! It's got cane chunks, blocks of aventurine, spirals, and a light blue rim on a deep blue glass body. I found out this vase is made by a studio called Mad Art Glass: "Shaded by palm trees and cooled by ocean breezes, the glassblowing studio of Rina Fehrensen and Michael Maddy is situated in north county San Diego. There, in front of the 2000 degree furnaces they create their colorful artwork." Their work is offered in a number of galleries, including one who wrote this: "San Diego based artist, Rina Fehrensen and Michael Maddy are the co-founders and artists of Mad Art Studios. One of the original studios of the glass studio movement in the United States, their work is characterized by bold use of color and whimsical design." I hope you enjoyed seeing it, and thanks for looking.

AmatoorPikr, yes, I tracked it down after posting, it is a vase made by Mad Art Studios, the design is called Spiral Rectangle. Thanks for your help. :)

Karen, I didn't think this one would be to your taste! It's a wild and crazy vase! I have it sitting right now with two other pieces of glass, the orange Murano ashtray and the red Viking bowl, let's see how they get along. :)
