As I said it was passed down to my mother. It was so funny because people always asked her for her secret recipes and usually she refused. But all of them came out of this Good Housekeeping Cook Book.
She has several of them marked, but as she grew older she lost her interest in baking.
Anyway, I'm just curious if this comes from my grandmother or great grandmother. If anyone is familiar with it and knows the year and any history on it, I would be very grateful if you would share it with me.
Sincerely,
Diana Austin
Printed in 1955. There are a number of them to be found on the web. There is no history connected to it - it's just a mid-century cookbook.

You need to look inside the book at the first few pages and see when it was printed - the original came out in 1955.

Thank you for the information. I had looked what I thought was very thoroughly, and now I'm wondering if it could be missing some pages.
At least least I know. Thank you.
Diana
I do see there are lots of them. Yours seems to be in the best condition though. Mine has been well used. And I plan to add some use to this interesting cook book also. Fun chatting with you.
