2 1/2" X 8 1/2". It is metal with a wooden handle at the top. A removable metal piece (that looks like a saw blade) but is much too blund for a saw blade) is attached with 2 screws) in the middle

We have several antique tools from our family members' estate sales. I'm making 4 shadow boxes with the more unique tools in them, to pass on to the next generation. Would like to be able to ID them, but have no idea of what this is. Would appreciate some help with an ID!

I think it's part of a meat tenderizer similar to this:

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Item-Antique-meat-tenderizer-unique-/232042410588?hash=item3606ce325c:g:pCsAAOSwyjBW5cC8

It appears to be missing something that would attach to those two large holes.

Ron, I think your psychic perception may have slipped a bit on this one.

The saw-like insert of the "maybe meat tenderizer" overall measures 7" long. Each of the 10 little "teeth" are about 3/16" long & 1/4" wide. And about 1/16" thick. I wouldn't exactly call them tapered, but they are VERY slightly tapered & gently curved at the ends. Does this help ID it??

      It's a clapboard marker:
