I found 2 painting on Monday, the first i want to share with you is from a Canadian artist "Mark Kalous" from 1986, this is a very talented artist, the finest of the details are amazing, this painting on board is so bright and realist you almost think this is a picture, when you look closer you can see all the little brush stroke, the scene depicted a family reunion at some kind of Church.
On the back a paper label is present, we can read " #640, After Services at Canestoga (3 generations) $395"
Canestoga is close to Kitchener, an hour and half from newmarket where i found the painting at Value Village, some time Artwork travel not so much from there original point.
I've not found biography of this artist, the only thing i found is a PDF file of a newspaper clip http://images.ourontario.ca/Partners/HHPL/HHPL0106756002pf.pdf
This painting measure 26.75 inch by 22.75 inch (frame)
The board is 20.25 inch by 16.25 inch.
Many Thanks Everyone for Viewing.

A unique style .Nice Canadian art work.
Roy, yes for sure, truly a beautiful painting, the technic employed by the artist it's quite unusual.
Many thanks for the kind comment and the love, much appreciated that you take some of your time to stop by.

Alan
Alan is it me or is the artist trying to make this look 3 D.
Roy, you see it quite right, it is very realistic and the artist achieved at the perfection the 3D effect.
I hope to find another one from him.
Many thanks to comeback and have another look at this painting.
Regards
Alan

I saw the thumbnail in the gallery, and thought it was photograph! Nice! They are Amish or Mennonite.
