WWII German SS jacket.
We think it might be real.
Has english numbers & letters
on inside of jacket.
Made of wool with green cotton inside.
Junior SS officer uniform (same rank on collar).
Been in the family for years.
Just a piece of history to show others.
Here we go, something really interesting tonight ! I believe that style eagle on the left sleeve means field gendarmerie /security, but just short of the SD. If the shoulder epaulets have a thin pink piping, it is panzer/armour. red is artillery, yellow is cavalry, etc. Nice & I envy you !
Yes that is a nice piece. WWII German uniform pieces is not something I see often.
A word of caution, a lot of reproductions are stamped K Kirkman. I've heard that this is the grandmother's name of the reproducer. Not sure, could be a rumour. Look up if authentic uniforms were made at Ludwigshafen, one would think this should be documented,
This reproduction has the exact same numbers inside:

So, looks like it's a reproduction made by "At The Front". Apparently they stamp Kirkman here and there on their US reproductions as well, to honestly show it's a reproduction.
The "Kirkman" mark is a fantasy maker mark used by the reenactment vendor. Kirkman is the family name of the owner's grandmother. There are no original hats and uniforms with this marking.
What a bummer !
Thanks everyone- I've been tring to research it for several weeks.
Didn't think it was real with english numbers & words in it.
Then I thought it might be a movie prop.
A thank you to OlofZ-kind a funny that I
found help from Sweden-
And your right blunderbuss2- "What a bummer!"
And thank you Ivan49 too.
