This is a second of the Jim & Jean Tyler pieces. This one has a beautifully formed lid too. The Tylers were British migrants to Australia in 1959 by way of South Africa and Zimbabwe. Here they took up pottery and made a living out of it north of Sydney in the Gosford area. It bears their signature on that foot - to my eye a Japanese feel all over.
I love the burnish on the unglazed sections.
Nice piece, fond memories of Gosford Central Coast
Oh, this is most definitely a great piece!
