They are so intrically carved!
The name for these is Bitong, brush pot!
A google search will show some :-)
i tried to carve bamboo once and it was very difficult - very different from wood!

The British Roadshow had this last week 6,00o-8,000 and for 20 yrs we have had this. My wife's family had this 1970s when her grandmother died. I thought these were from 1970s, WOW they are selling really high.
These came from china a clipping ship 1890s we have my wifes G.G.Aunt pictures and her dairies she wrote on her husband Clipping ship these years. He was the Captain.
Just beautiful. I assume they are brush pots

Hate to crush your dreams, but please compare the examples in the comments with yours. Theirs are extremely fine in terms of carving, composition, and finished. Yours are not. Make sure to lower your expectations.
