When I first saw this vase, I could easily understand the seller's description stating that it dated from the 1960's. It has a crazy fused glass flower in orange tones that would be perfect for the period. But, as a collector, I also recognized it as being an old Bohemian vase dating to about 1900 or so.
Some vases with very similar applied flowers have been attributed as having being made by Pallme Konig, and to me, the vase shapes themselves exhibit very organic forms. On CW in the past, some vases with these types of flowers have also been attributed to Kralik. I personally believe that this particular example is also by Kralik, based on the geometric shape of the vase, and also on the body color. (I have several other Kralik vases that are in exactly this shade of yellowish-green.) But whoever you think actually made this vase, I hope you enjoy it - the colors are a lot of fun!
By the way, it is 5-1/2" tall.
Also, I just read through this post, and a vase the same shape as this one is shown in image three. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/195345-quittenbaum-pallme-knig-and-kralik
wow! this is wonderful!
Here is the same shape in the easily recognized Kralik décor referred to as Banded".

Wow, beautiful example, like you say, colour is just gorgeous.
Remind me the colour of my PK Cookie jar post a year ago, with same flowers decor.

Wow, this is A++++++
I never thought I would ever say a piece of Kralik is cool, but this sure is Michelle!
Lovely colours and inspired placing of the flower......
This is just beautiful Michelle, I can understand why they thought 1960’s...so! drug-I-fide and psychedelic looking..:-)).. and your photos are wonderful!..:-)
my hole admiration
Wow! And my admiration as well!
Thank you all so much - I am glad you like 'psychadelic coolness' of this one! :)
Simply Beautiful Michelle! These abstract flower pieces are always so special :-)
How did I ever miss this one? Many thanks for pointing me towards it after seeing the vase I posted today...& for sure, this one has a very similar colour scheme to mine, despite the more complex, angular shape. Fabulous piece!
Thank you Marin! I definitely see the similarities, but yours has the best setting, by far! :)
