I was given this camera by my Dad when I went off to Art college. My Dad, brought it back from Germany after WWII and I am trying to find out more about it and am becoming more confused as I research. I have ascertained that it was manufactured in 1934.
The serial number is 143990 and the lens is marked No.226684/Summar f=5cm 1:2 I would like to know the value and history.
I have also wondered if I should keep or toss the old General Electric exposure meter that is in perfect condition. Do photographers use these anymore?

Keep the exposure meter they are actually quite useful. A photographer will hold it just to the face to make sure he/she gets the best exposure for the skin.

I am not sure of the value of the camera but I have seen the Leica's posted on Ebay that were war vintage go for great prices.

I have a Leica camera with a soaring eagle holding a swastika in its talons and the word Lutwaffe printed below it.
Not sure of its value. Any ideas?

I am new to Lecia, and lack the knowledge to ID my camer. The case is flat black, with red wood arounf the main case, ser number 10888, in gold inlay. On top a stamped tank, with Panzerkampf, also gold inlay. This Lecia was a gift on bottom a inscription from one named person to another , not stampled but, a hand engraving , and dated I think based on my limited knowledge a lecia III. A Leitz Elmar 3.5 lense. Please email me, would like the lecia IDed. The wood in my reading, is a red curtain
