    So not sure what this is for. The top spins clockwise to wind it up, then you push a button on back to make it unwind. Maybe the item isn't complete. Could someone clue me in. Thanks

      I believe this is a doorbell. It would go on the inside of the door and there would be a button on the outside with a rod going through the door and pressing the release on the back of the bell unit to make it ring.
