I was given these lovely pieces by a relative this week. They belonged to my great aunt. The hutch is made by Virginia House. The small ladies desk and chair have no markings that I can find. All lovely pieces that mean all the more because they belonged to family. The hutch is believed to be around 90 yrs. old.
Nice solid wood furniture with a family connection!
Your hutch is not an antique-- from what is shown, I would put it at the mid 20th century at the earliest.

scott, I could not find this exact hutch in my search. I did find similar pieces and they were dated around 1940-1950. I know the term antique is often misused. When I was a kid anything 100 yrs or older was considered antique. Is that still the gauge? At any rate, as you stated...nice solid wood and at the least they are very vintage. Thanks for your input. Thanks to all for the loves! I appreciate your stopping by: aura, mikelv85, brunswick, vetraio50 and blunderbuss2.
Glad to help out.
Yes, most antique dealers/ collectors use the 100 year mark FOR Furniture.
The other pieces are not part of my "age assessment"-- I was just talking about the hutch. The desk MAY be older and the chair MAY be newer. Hard to tell with just one photo.
If you'd like info on them, start a posting for each. Key elements to photograph are the bottom, back (desk) and joints. The interior of the desk and any drawer joints would be key.

Mary,
I love all of these pieces, especially the ladies desk and chair. I think it's a wonderful thing when pieces like these are able to remain within the family. They're wonderful heirloom pieces to pass on down.
I agree whole-heartedly. jscott and I feel so fortunate to have these pieces in my care. I hope my daughters feel the same someday.. Some are worth more and some less as far as market value. But for my purposes, it really does not matter as long as there is a story! :)
sorry I missed you wickencrafts. thanks for loving my old furniture!
You are welcome!
Hey There Mare
No Worries
I dig the hutch even if it is not an ancient artifact
