I am wondering about this chair I inherited years ago from an elderly relative. The picture I posted is of the label on the bottom of the chair. It is A. W. Schram & sons company in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Patented January 5, 1897. It has a metal coil that connects the seat to the base and allows for rocking. Not like a regular rocker. I am not sure if it is the original seat (brownish/reddish leather) it also came with an needlepoint floral pillow with a black background (assumed that was added). It is a simple style (maybe mission). I was wondering a couple of things. 1) is the upholstery original? I haven't seen one like it so I was wondering 2) is it rare? 3) value of the piece (was wondering value so I know if I need to insure it)?
Thanks for any information.
Nice simple piece of furniture has little value and not rare but worth keeping.
Thanks for your comment. I hadn't seen any like it and am really just hoping for information from someone who might know more about it.
