I recently picked up this very unique looking Telechron clock at an Estate sale in NC. I have a vintage train station Telechron clock in my workshop - that's the reason I recognized the brand. There was a lot of WWII military stuff there, so I suspect this is of similar vintage. What's interesting is that the clock runs at 1/2 speed. It covers 24 hrs in a single rotation around the face. It is an alarm clock. The alarm set hand works as does the time movement. What I found especially interesting is the two electric "sockets" on the top. I observed the clock as it eclipsed the alarm setting, and no "alarm" sounded. I'm wondering if those sockets on top become energized when the alarm is activated.... Could it be for some kind of light, or to trigger some other electronic components? Maybe they trigger a BOMB!! : - )
Can anyone ID this strange bird?
