My Balloon Back Chairs

I was given these by my great aunt who lived outside of Portland several years back. She's now gone and I'm wishing I'd asked her for more info about the chairs when I still could.

I'm wondering if anyone has tips for better dating and identification of these chairs and how old they are. I believe my aunt said she had the seats redone with her own petit point work at some point. They are not exact matches but that's what I really love about this set :)

Looking online they appear less ornate than most balloon chairs and also have a 'foot rest' style bar between the front legs. I'm hoping this might be a clue to their age and origin. I also believe it might be from the Victorian era but wow is that ever a confusing era!
