From a private collection found over a hundred years ago in Nebraska. Looks to me like a hammer. Well worn and smooth on the flat face and approx 3 1/2 x 3. Any ideas?

These were used to grind corn or wheat into flour in a concave depression in a rock (or in a stone bowl). Notice how the small end just fits your palm, and the flat end has been worn smooth from use- gotta love an antique with honest wear!
