Hello fellow collectors!!
I recently acquired this set of clothing brushes and leather case from the early 1900's. I believe these are English military officer's clothing brushes from the WW1.
The brushes are made from badger hair. The set was made in England. The leather case and brushes are still in premium condition and make a nice addition to my collection.
Thanks very much for stopping in to have a look!!
Scott
A wonderful set Scott and such beautiful condition!!!
Badger hey?! Will be just the thing to go with your beaver silk hats.
Excellent collection, Scott! ~ any restoration on the leather case? [;>)

Karen,
Yep, badger hair! I keep away from the beaver silk top hats. Don't want any scuffles between the two:) Thanks for the fun comment, the love and for stopping by!

oh i see! what an interesting find!:)
do you use them to brush your clothes as well?
fleafinder,
No, I don't use them to bush my clothes with. I have a more modern day clothes brush/lint remover that I use. I just have these on display with the rest of my collection.
Oh wow Scotty excellent addition to an awesome collection. Great condition as well. Have a great day sir and enjoy life.
oic scott!really curious as to how badger hair feels like. i wonder if they ever sell porcupine hair brush. i pity the owner!
Nice set, perfect condition :-)
So curious! Never heard of badger hair brushes!
Oh except for shaving brushes, in France they are généticien name of "blaireau" even made in nylon :-)
Oops, generic! Not généticien, lol
Roy,
Thanks brother!!! Thanks also for the appreciation and for stopping by! Always appreciated!!
fleafinder,
Badger hair is fairly stiff. Shaving brushes are also made from badger hair. So, if you ever come across a shaving brush you can see what badger hair feels like.
Kyra,
Thanks very much! Yep, shaving brushes were also made from badger hair. Thanks for the comment, the love and for stopping by. Always a pleasure!!
