Happy Happy! Arrived safe and sound inside a jewelry box. The stone is 8/16 of an inch in diameter. Larger than I had anticipated. All the lovely signs of wear are there, too. I wish it could talk and tell me who made it.
There is a 925 stamp and then the sword mark for the Netherlands post 1953. I'm reasonably certain that this design is Scandinavian influenced, as much of the European jewelry was at that time. Everybody wanted to get in on the act.
Thanks for looking (again) at my ring.

Some comfort to you from Scandinavia: I also think it looks like if it´s from here :) I think it´s got a very nice vintage modernistic look. Great!
Nice, nice, and NICE!!!!
Hiya Elizabethan and thanks for the comment. I do have a number of Scandinavian pieces of jewelry from David Andersen, Karl Laine, Hannu Ikonen, Orla Eggert and Jorma Laine. I like the modernistic designs of most of the 1970s jewelry.
Gothic jewelry is also on my list of "Loves". :-)))
kyra - and it fits, fits, FITS!!
LOL
olebodie - it's either an Amethyst or a crystal. I would need a jeweler to look at it to determine if it's real or man made.
Bonnie, I think it is still the most curiously interesting ring I have ever seen!!!!
Judy - I've never seen a design like this one, either. I saw it on the website, put in a bid and it was accepted. Bingo! LOL If the design was angular instead of circular, I think it would look too harsh.
It does look great on your finger I must say!!! and the stone is a lovely colour too!!
