I found this tablecloth(?) at a local thrift store; wondering if it is damask linen. It is 102 x 106 inches, unseamed, and has two 6" embroidered ovals in the center, with an eagle atop a crown, and the saying"Esse quam videri".
I am thinking this is a family crest, but have not been successful in my research.
Does this look like Irish linen? It is very smooth and silky, and cool to the touch.
It is the state motto of North Carolina & other groups.
