Still yet again another piece where I can't find information than other people making guesses.
This seems to be a transition model from the original models to the mid century models. I posted a very early one from around 1900 but the wheels are so worn it does not work well. This example works quite well. I have done a bit of carpet sweeping with this and it works well.
My guestimate on this is 1930s-1950s based on style and age appearance. I am leaning towards 1930s or 40s. 1940s could be likely due to the lack of other examples. WWII took up everyone's attention back there.
Photo #4 shows the animal skin rug that Carson the cat from which is distributing fur. His and the animal skin rug.
Had a look through our old newspapers which are online here and found that the Bissell Century Carpet Sweeper was being sold here 1934- 1937. Does that help?

The ones like these I remember I think were 1950's & green. That might have been the fuller brush man but that's long gone from here. My mom still has the old dust mop though that worked wonders on the wood floors!
