my old lamp, lower part should )e original, shade is reproduction

I have owned this piece for 45 years. I purchase it from a really nice old guy antique dealer that was near our home in Milwaukee. He told me the lower half was original and the top reproduced to look like the original shade. I did not care I just liked the lamp. On the lower part there is a gold sticker that says, "Art Craft Products Chicago" Laquered and patent pending, it also has a sym)ol that looks like a stick and the letter A and C. Is there anyone that can tell me more regarding this lamp?
