Need some help ... (so I'd appreciate all the help you might be able to give/offer me). I was remodeling a two garage into a family room. These sheets of aluminum ( approximately 30"x40" ) were all over the interior walls. One sheet has John Wayne, Rock Hudson, Jim Chandler, Kim Novak, Susan Hayward and Elizabeth Taylor on it. A Couple more has Marilyn Monroe and Joan Collins. Still some has old Notre Dame stuff on them. Looks like most of them are from Illinois, Chicago area. I have been to a couple of antiques stores and of course they're telling me they have value but have no idea where or who to contact, I have made numerous calls with no one calling me back just yet.
I Thank You All,
I've always thought them to be permanent copies. Seems every paper had them. I have a few I pulled out of a dumpster. It will be interesting to learn what they really are.
I'm not sure I understand this. The pieces of actual newspaper look like they were torn off a page. The one with Marilyn looks like it has black mould on it. Why would anyone think these have value? As for the aluminum sheets they don't seem to be for decoration because there are so many doubles (they were in a garage anyway). Were they hiding the condition of the walls underneath?
