I don't know much about this vase. Kamei sticker to the base and clearly made by a good glass artist.
The history behind Kamei Glass, the glass it made as opposed to the glass it sold, remains very hidden.
Pink glass, maroon and purple swirls, gold spatter, matte finish.
17cm high
It's another very Japanese beauty.
Such a beautiful vase Karen and a wonderful color as well!
I thought this was going to be a lampshade...... However as a vase it is full of sparkly gorgeousness! Perhaps you need a high glass shelf so that you can see the base, where the swirls have such exquisite detail.
Lights under bushels.......
beautiful!!
Looks like a peppermint candy from the bottom. This puts a bright twist on your collection ;)
Ooooo..la..la... magnifique ! Happy 600th post too :)
Drop dead GORGEOUS & HAPPY 600th TOO !!!!!
Thanks Scott. I'm not a girly girl and pink is not a favourite colour but I agree that here it works well.
I guess it does look a lampshade in the thumbnail Peggy!
The shelf is a great idea. I have a number of vases, this included, that need their bottoms look at :) Thanks!
Appreciate the comment Sean although I'm missing stunning.....
Sue - It is now the Kamei candy vase - thanks!
Mike - I didn't even realise! Holy sh!! Thanks so much!
Kevin - as above. I' m glad this appeals too.
Thanks Bill - always glad to have your point of view.
wow 600 items. you must live in a warehouse or palace racer!
Neither FF, but I have lots of clutter and stacked boxes........
but still an antique queen
Haha - thanks ff!
Where do you find all these beautiful pieces of glass....????
Thanks Marty!
Lots of it now comes from Japan, so I can get pieces not generally found here.
Oh my Karen... I'm crazy about this! The pink and maroon is one of my favorite color combinations! The shape, the gold aventurine, the matte finish and the unevenness of the stripes is fantastic! One of my favorites :-)
I agree with Rick.
Many thanks Rick. It's one of a kind in my diverse collection - I appreciate your objective appreciation!
Thanks Jean - happy to hear that!
So, so pretty!! You have amazing posts I really love to look at.
I love the bottom too Karen!! The vase of course. ;) Again, very envious of the box. I mean something you actually buy with confidence that comes in a box... :):)
It's pretty either way.
Thanks again OGF.
Nah, would def not want to see my bottom....
I love the boxes nearly as much as the glass!!
This is the best vase made by Kamei, and whoever understands glass must agree this vase can match any art glass, both modern and antique.
Thanks Ken, it's a lovely bit for sure.
Ivan I'm happy to hear that from you. Japanese glass generally is under appreciated.
Many thanks.
