I recently acquired these sterling silver horseshoe design ? and can't seem to figure out what they were used for. I was told that perhaps they were used for some type of shoe decorations for lace up riding boots but that was a guess at best. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
cufflinks probably?
I've never seen anything like those....uh...yeah..but am very interested to see if someone else knows their purpose.
:-))))
I thought they might be cufflinks as well however the loop on the makes no sense to me. It's almost like a toggle clasp of some sort. Thanks!
The only thing I can think of in relation to the loop is when the "cuff link" is put through the holes, the loop is folded down to keep the whole thing in place.
??? What do you think ???
Unfortunately the loop doesn't fold, it is stationary. It also looks as if there is a right and left horseshoe. Thanks for your input!
Looks like one side of a button- almost like hook & eye fastener, but yours have a rod instead of the hook part. If you take one of each of the opposite facing horseshoes, can you fit the bar with the balls through the “eye” or hole of the other?
Tried to fit the bar through the hole as you suggested but it doesn't fit. I thought they might be buttons as well however I can't figure out how to use them. Thank you for the suggestion!
