It looks like it might be the tumbler for the Columbia pattern of depression glass. This pattern was made 1938 to 1942, does it have little bumps running up the sides of the glass, too, or is that a reflection somehow? The Columbia pattern just has the bumps on the base.
Replacements.com has some nice pictures to compare. Like it very much, btw.
