I found this in Lanaken, Belgium. Considering I arrived "late" in terms of flea markets - after 9 a.m. - I was surprised that there were still some goodies left for me, lol! I recognized the rosary immediately for what it is and snapped it up. I haven't cleaned it yet. The third photo is how the image appears in the stanhope. I've seen the stanhope rosary posted four years ago, one exactly like mine but clean. :-))))
Thanks for looking/loving.

When the early birds are blind, the lucky bird catch the worm :-D
2€.... Grrrrreat!
Efesgirl that amazing! Great for you! No idea about the mark but it has a catholic feel about it?
Elizabethan - that's not a mark. That is a minuscule drawing which can be viewed by looking into the cross. That bit in the middle is a "window" to the drawing.
Definition of a Stanhope: A simple, one-piece microscope invented by Charles, the third Earl of Stanhope. It is a cylinder of glass with each end curved outwards, one being more convex than the other.
The glass cylinder is built in to the cross.
Bonnie, it is actually a microphotograph of a picture :-)
