I Meant to share this but forgot until today. About a month ago I spotted this little table in a small furniture store I had never been to. Talking to the lady, I learned there were three such tables that came out of an old farmhouse in Freehold, NJ. The tables are not quite my style, but the price was too good to pass them up. I bought this one first, then went back the next day for a second one (the third one was a little beaten up, and not really worth it).

It wasn't until loading into the car that I realized the table is signed on the bottom....."B. Roland." I still can't find a furniture maker named B. Roland, maybe it was the owner.....who knows. But the table has all the signs of an early 19th century card game. Four legs, one of them swings out to support the table top that opens up. The leg is joined by hand cut finger joint that allows it to swing in and out. The wood I think is mahogany burl. Veneer? I think it is a veneer. Not sure about the table top.

The bottom of the table shows oxidation, and hand cut flat head screws. I am thinking first quarter 1800's? ?? Not sure. If anyone has an opinion please feel free. Thanks for looking! If anyone wants to see the second table I can add the pictures.
