I've tried to capture the colour of the deep blue green labradorite stone. The pendant as been handmade and is marked for Kultaseppa Salovaara Finland, the makers mark is JPE. I have had no joy in finding the maker :( the measurements 3.5 X 2cm or 1 1/2 approx. I would appreciate your comments.
Many thanks for looking
Hello, I can't see the mark very well but I don't understand the JPE mark. It doesn't sound right. Try this link (you can have it in english) in order to see how finish marks are usually composed. Saalovaars symbol is a polarbear if I remember correctly. You can see it on the sight I refered to and compare.
From this I can't say for sure your pendant is or is not by Salovaara but I would research more until I felt confident. I'm saying this because of the stamp and the style is very different from pieces I have seen before. I hope I'm rong in being careful in this case. Sorry. It's still a cool pendant either way.

Hi Elisabethan, I've cleaned the hallmark and added a photo. I was presuming it was Kultaseppa Salovaara. Thanks for your link.
Hello :) Thankyou now I can see better. I'm still wondering. The 925 could be because it was made for export normaly they write for exempel 813H where H is for silver and the purity can be higher than that.
I enclose a link where they show a Salovaara piece with the mark written the way I'm used to. I wonder if your mark is "new", after 1970 to today. They are not in the Leimat database. I have a rock chrystal ring posted with a mark I haven't been able to find, it also has Finland written on it. I suspekt my ring is not as early as I thought and made for an international market (that's why Finland is written).

For marks made after 1960 there is another database called Tukes, I enclose link and you can read the homepage in english and to the right in the Pink frame you see the nameregister the problem is that it's only in finish then and I haven't got around to translate and use it.

I have found a long list of makersmark symbols for Finland. I'll have a look and get back to you (200 pages)
Wow, thank you Elisabethan, for your help, it's much appreciated. I really don't know anything about Scandinavian jewellery.
It is beautiful and I can see you two and the frustration...Isn't it awesome PJean being part of this lovely group here on CW!!!
Peasejean there was no JPE but still there is a chance with the left symbol mark. Can you please show me a close up of the symbol straight from above, there seams to be an angle in your photo. I will go to bead for tonight but get back to you tomorrow, ok?
I'll try and take a clearer photo tomorrow, thanks Elisabethan, pleasant dreams.
Lol, shareurpassion, yes it is great being a member of CW, I missed the group while I as was away, but now I'm back :-)
Only JPE I found is John Peter Edelfsen, but he's Danish.
:-((
Lol Bonnie, maybe he might have had dual nationality, just a thought.
Is it really an ice-bear (Salovaara) or does it look like hammer with wings mark?

Thanks IVAN great information, I shall check the sites you gave me.
In my list about 5 different makers have been registered with the hammer and wings mark, but there are also a few other marks possible. That's why I wanted to see the mark more closely. The list is a pdf file on 200 pages. If you want I can try and email it to you. But then I need your email.

This is a similar pendant, unfortunately there isn't very much information.
Hi Elisabethan, I've been looking at your email you sent me. I can't find any maker name with JPE. I've just reread the makers mark, it is definitely JPE.
