I picked up this unusual little plate at Goodwill yesterday. There were a few Asian items that seemed to have been donated by the same person. The odd thing is this plate is German. I researched St. Killian online and most pieces come back with more European decor (mythological, cherubs etc.) Nothing like this which shows a transfer decoration of two Asian women (Geisha?) that appear to be fairly close, maybe even mother and daughter. The mark appears to be the OS St. Kilian green mark dated to 1904 and is from the Oscar Schlegelmilch factory in Langewiesen, Thuringia, Germany. It's in fairly good shape no chips or cracks and minimal wear to the gilding. A bit grundgy on the back though. It's pierced to be hung on the wall with wire. The green mark is a bit blurred and thickly stamped along with a red pattern number above it. Some of these can be quite pricey and this plate may be rare and unique.. -Mike-
What a BEAUTIFUL plate Mike!! You did quite well!
Why thank you Scott. :)
So beautiful Mike!
Thanks so much Pops52 :)

Lovely, I think mother and daughter. Gives me an ideas...... it's really sweet.
I think so too OGF....odd subject matter for a German plate though. Maybe made for export to Japan.
