This has been in our family for years. We don't know which tribe it belongs to, but we have always wondered about it. Anyone know anything about where it might have come from?

This is a basket bowl, made by a member of the Apache Tribe. The Apache came from western Arizona to eastern Texas, and also from northern Colorada and Mexico in the south.
This was made with rods from the Willow Tree, and this one would have been woven with only one rod. Up until the 1930's these baskets were woven with three rods from top to bottom. Using that method made the baskets very rigid so they would keep thier shape.
The basket also has the design in black, made from the seed pod of Devils Claw.
But there is something else I see, and I do not know if it is just from the photograph of this basket. I am seeing tinges of pink in this basket. If that is really on the basket, it would mean this basket was made also with Yucca Root. The Yucca Root is red and was rarely used. If that is really on the basket, and it is very, very sturdy and strong with no give in the basket at all, this would mean that this basket was made earlier than the beginning of WW2. Can you put more pics of this up here, pics of the bottom and inside and a better pic of the side? That would help alot.
