I've done some reading up on these brooches, and the marking of them was somewhat inconsistent at times. This particular brooch has no indication of being silver, but gave a very strong silver result ( red) from five tests. The stones, however, are faux (warm to the touch). I know Miracle did make silver items, but those are supposed to be marked "Miracle R".
Hmmmm...

Thanks for coming by!

Thank you, Ken!! You're so sweet. :-))))
Reminds me of Mizpah or Ward Bros pieces. Their designs are now part of Miracle jewellery. I wouldn't be pewter would it???
Judy - I don't know, because I watched it tested for silver...4 times. I have to go back to my friend and have it tested one more time.
UPDATE > I went back to the pawn shop today and guess what - it is not silver. The silver layer was so thick that it registered as silver. I kept the brooch, as I think it's beautiful, and got a refund for the cost of the "not-silver"!
val - yes, this costume brooch is made in a typical Scottish design. I'd love to see yours.
Well Bonnie, isn't that amazing!!! Glad you kept it....I love these Scottish type pieces!
Beautiful colors, nicely made, and as Ken said, great pics!
Thanks, all~!!
