    Hello everyone,
I have recently inherited this horse. My grandmother is now 94 and can't tell me anything about it. I do remember when my grandfather got it - sometime in the late 70s or early 80s. It has spent it's whole life in a china cabinet. I remember it being his pride and joy and that he was very excited to get it. He passed in 1987 and it has been locked away ever since.
Can anyone tell me anything about it? (I thought it came from Germany but can see ENGLAND on the bottom).
    Thank you!
    Laura

Thanks for the warm welcome! You people work FAST. I can't believe you knew what it was so quickly! Awesome.

      I have another question...
I would like to display this on my mantel above the gas fireplace. Will the heat harm it? I suspect it has value (not just sentimental) and I would like to keep it in great condition for many years. It is such a great keepsake. ????
I am so tickled to be the one who inherited it! (My husband not so much. Lol)

I would not put on a place it will get heated up but that is just my opinion . I would keep it in a steady climate area . You are lucky to have him he is wonderful heirloom and yes he has value :-)

I think a pottery called Melrose made these at Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, I think you could also buy hand made carts and gypsy bow top caravans for them, like the one Toad drives in Wind in the Willows. He's really nice.
