    Hello can anyone identify this item? Is it a coin. I found it in a house clearance. It's metal and as you can see it has some holes and markings on it.

      Looks like it could have been a Cartwheel penny that has been counter stamped as a check or token .

      Wow your right it does look like one of them. Thank you for your help. I will have to look in to it a bit more thanks for the pointer :)

      I'm not sure what this is made of but there are similar things made of lead used as curtain weights I assume the holes were to sew them in place.
