Saw this at a garage sale in a tin of junk. It's about 2 inches long and has some holes in it with text saying: use holes only once

Its a fiber optic cutter. Used for fiber optic sensors on machinery.
      Sorta like this.

ESwaney, how come it says use only once?

In order for the Fiber optic cable to cleanly transmit the laser light, a good clean cut is needed. A used (dull) knife will leave serrations (or scratches) that will diffuse the light. This is a single use tool for setup. I own a professional splicer kit with knives that get sharpened before each use.
