Czech vase

Here is another mold-blown Czechoslovakian vase that I find a little different - I'm not sure how to describe it. I'll start with the basics - it stands about 6 1/2" (16.7 cm) and the base diameter is about 3 1/8" (8 cm). It is cased with clear glass both inside and outside. (Things get a little vaguer now) Sandwiched between these clear coats is a layer of butterscotch and caramel with white and a touch of pink glass. This layer is not made with frit components and appears to be blown using this variegated glass.

In my neophyte mind, I associate this with what is called "shimmy" but that, at this point, is in my mind. (Shimmy no pfau?) The shape has also been elusive - Truitt 2, pg 65, #5 is close but an inch larger and a bit narrower at the constriction - so no cigar for that one either.

To add to the picture, the underside has the remnants of a similar dime-size circular mark as the candy dish in my previous posting. These marks are enamel and have a tendency to wear away. If there is a definite association for either mark, I haven't seen it yet.
