Can anyone help me indentify this bronze. I believe it's Chinese, Indonesian or maybe even art deco or nouveau but that's only a guess. It measures 13 1/2" tall x 10 1/2" long x 4" wide and weighs over 8 pounds. It is without a dought bronze, I used to supervise a foundry and know alloys, and it has a nice patina. It is stamped on the left side of the belly in small letters ST 5-1000. I purchased it at a yard sale for $5.00 in a very well-to-do part of town. I own several pieces of artwork but no bronzes. For some reason I could not pass this one up. It's style and simplicity of design is fascinating and I must know more about it. Does anyone have any ideas.
Thanks!
It's beautiful - I'd have bought it, too. I made a couple of stabs at researching it, but so far have found nothing similar.
wow! unbelievable!
