    Seems to be made of cherry and oak.... Age? New woven seat. Why hole in front of left arm? Ladderback rocking chair early 1700's?

      I have one theory, It could be for knitting needles... ? or you just got lucky :). It is a lovely chair, either way it adds to the charm of it.

      Thanks Panzon ... Another friend told me they also thought it to be a hole to run a n end of a scan of yarn through so it would unroll it and keep the tension while knitting or crocheting i am thinking these are the best reasons for the hole
