His other grandma came from the reservation in Northern Arizona. She became active in woman's-rights, and politics in Phoenix. A very small and well spoken,high-class lady from very humble beginnings, but died not long after our grandbaby was born--She loved him and cuddled him often--even sang a "tribal lullaby" to him. We found these a few decades ago--They are made of gourds, real N-A beading ,hand decorated and stitched with "thong"? and make wonderful rattlse. Probably used with the Indian Pow-Wow Dances" up in Flagstaff.AZ
There are just over 1 foot long.
These are remarkable PostCardCollector!! What wonderful heirlooms for your Grandson to pass on down to the next generation.
Oh these are just awesome PCC! Is your grandson on the Dawes List? He should be, he has lots coming to him. I'm glad his grandma spent time with him. I'm sure she left him with many spiritual gifts as well. These are amazing!
What an interesting history you have PCC. These are amazing, I've never seen anything like them. A great post. Thank you
