    Hello everyone.

    How cute is this!!!

Edwardian 9ct rose gold mounted tooth brooch.
It has a 1901 lever lock safety C clasp.
The brooch is marked 9c for 9ct gold and is 2 inches long.
    The pin is marked Metal.

Probably a sentimental piece......a baby's first tooth perhaps......

I love it, hope you do too! Thanks Judy

I'm a bit ambivalent here Judy - cute concept, beautifully executed, but I have never been big on keeping teeth. i know lots do! Maybe it was a deceased child and they wanted a beautiful memento.
I always remember seeing on a collector's show once this huge castle built by a dentist in the 1940s or so out of teeth - creepy as hell.

Judy, you win today's prize for the funkiest brooch posting! Where'd you find it?
    3. TassieDevil TassieDevil, 8 years ago
That's ok Karen thanks....I didn't expect everyone to be as keen on it as I am!!
I prefer to think it is just the child's first tooth that the mother had made into a brooch as a keepsake......... It would be too sad otherwise......
OMG ....that castle does sound very creepy!!!!

Lol thanks Bonnie.....I had been watching this brooch for a couple of years at a market. As much as I wanted it I just couldn't justify paying what the seller wanted for it! Anyway, that seller left the market for good and next thing another seller had it and only wanted $45.00 for it. Considering it is something that would not come up very often I thought it was a very good price and snaffled it!!

Thanks Martika, I think so too and not something seen very often!

Woooh! A so nice keepsake of a child, no mourning here :-)

I must post my framed first cut hair locks and baby teeth from two brothers!

The dentist's teeth castle must be really creeeeepyyyy!

Thanks Pascale, glad you think as well it is just a keepsake and not mourning!
Look forward to seeing your frame!
I kept baby teeth and first locks from my daughter and son as well! Now that they are older (43 and 41) I have given them each their set......

Judy - you are 100% right about something like that not coming up often. I'd say not at all!
