This is that bracelet what I promised to post on CW. It features three images known from the Nazca desert: the monkey, spider and bird. The Nazca lines are ancient geoglyphs in Southern Peru, scholars believe they were created 2500-1500 years ago. There are more than 70 zoomorphic designs, like birds, monkeys etc or human figures and hundreds are simple lines or geometric shapes.
I bought it in Cuzco. It has a 925 mark, but somehow I doubt it's a sterling silver - the sides are tarnishing differently.
The necklace is handmade, piece of Peruvian opal with a plated string. I mentioned this stone in one of my previous posts:

These are beautiful! I see two marks on the bracelet - the 925 and another that I can't see clearly.
Thanks, you are right - the another one is 18K mark, because of the gold plating of the images. You know much more than me about silver - can you tell me why the two sides are so different now? It wasn't the case few years ago - the metal on both sides looked same.
I wore it maybe twice or thrice.
Loving both! I've always been facinated by Nazca lines, it is great to have them figured on a beautiful bracelet :-)
Thank you Pascale, Thomas and everybody else for your LUV and nice comments!!!
I mentioned I've visited Peru ( and Bolivia) some years ago, been there for two months. Sadly I missed the Nazca lines and Macchu Picchu too - I just run out of time! :(
Martika, thanks so much for posting your bracelet! I really enjoyed seeing it. Once again, I appreciate your help in finding out more info about mine:)
You are welcome, Freiheit!!! :)
Lovely Martika. Love these pieces, the pics, background and yet more information from you and others here on CW.
