Not sure what these are. Found during a demo of a 40's era Barn. About 3' long, the thinnest bar on the top is bent. When put back into shape, the lever actually locks the rubber covered tongs together. Any ideas? I'm thinking milk bottles?

Not enough info. or pix. What is it made of ? What is rubber coated ?(Green part?). The flat looking spot looks like an acetylene torch striker. What part moves when you squeeze it ? What's on the end of the short arm ?

I kept digging, but finally came across the answer.
Bill Boatman invented these tongs to snare unintended dog hunted animals. Coons, badgers, ect. I suppose this was a humane way to displace these critters.
I will try to add a photo from the catalog.
