I have had this for years and overlooked the fact that it might be a McCoy oil jar.
    It is about 14.5" tall.
Does have some crazing but is still very solid. Beautiful blue.
    Any help is most appreciated.

I'm not sure I'll be much help here - This shape oil jar is very much like the Nelson McCoy jar. They used a cobalt blue in their glaze pallette. Also, they made a 15" size which could easily fit your dimensions. I'm troubled by the numbers on the underside. I have occasionally seen similar marks on Brush-McCoy vases so there may be some sort of connection. I have also seen a similar sort of numbering on pieces by Alamo Pottery, but I'm not very familiar with their products. If it is Alamo, the clay body will be more like vitreous china. I can guarantee that it is not Bauer.

      Hi,
Thank you all. I know so little. Had never even heard of Bauer. Good to learn.
You must live someplace warm. If I left something ceramic outside it would have cracked over a winter. Thank you so much for looking on the bottom of yours.
So, I guess I have a Nelson McCoy oil jar. They must have been heavy when filled with oil.
      Thank You.

Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co. The 'slash & dash' marking is a dead giveaway.

      Hi,
I keep learning & appreciate your help. I stand corrected, it is Robinson Ransbottom Pottery. Glad I saw a photo and started this learning experience.
      Thank You.
