Just trying to find out what this is. My aunt has it! Toy train set, says made in Japan. From at least 1945.

Made in Japan. Highly doubtful it's from 1945 or before as you know how well the U.S. got along with Japan in WW2. Before the war, Germany and France were well-known for making items for the U.S. market.

Japan was popular for making toys in the '50s and 60s.

The date I am unsure of, but she said she had it when she was a baby, and she was born in 43. I also thought about the WW2 idea.
