    very strange jar picked up at yard sale they said a friend gave it to them years ago it was handed down from the family no one knows any thing about it just that it was creepy and no one wanted it.

      Looks like a bit Cornish stoneware pottery, with novelty head...

      I think the head is a hunk of wood straight from a tree, with knobs in all the right places. Eyes have just been pushed in and nostrils too may have had some help to be formed. Of course it may be pottery, but it might not be.

      The lidded pot underneath has been on a potters wheel. I like the glaze.

      the head is made from stoneware, right? i've seen pieces like this. this is a really nice one.
