Looking for some information on this recent thrift store find. They kind of all look the same to me? Age could be late 18th century? Thank for taking a look! b

it's beautiful!
Very nice ! Looks like it has age to it and I love the design on your wood raiser on stairs , almost look like waves from the ocean . Quite unique .
Thanks for the comments and love. Manikin, the chair could be late 18th. century. Found it in a thrift store. Values are all over board though? All shaker ladder backs are not created equal :)
Wide seating for very full or hoop skirt is a clue.
Postcard collector, What a great insightful comment. Thanks! It also has a seat that is only 13.5 inches off the floor , short legs or cut down ?
really nice chair; lowness might account for cutting down of a rocker
i see a lot of chairs called 'shaker', but this one really does appear to be one.
Thank you Tallcakes and ho2cultcha. every piece of the puzzle helps! Mgr. of thrift store said it was just donated from a home built in 1790s.?
