I was going through some old boxes from many many years ago. They belonged to my grandmother and I found this metal badge. All I can make out is civilian police, guard, army, Osc, civilian auxiliary but I have no idea what year, what for, anything. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks.

I wonder if it's not WWII era. There were a lot of civilian semi-official groups that helped with home defense. People who went around making sure everyone had shut off all their lights during a blackout or other tasks. This was most often found on the west coast during WWII but I'd bet they were all around the country in smaller ways.

ravage60, I think you might be right. I found another one that is in a bit better shape but has a screw on the backside. I think the person who had these would have lived in TX or CA at that time so your thought about CA might be correct. Thanks and I appreciate the information.
