OF INTEREST TO PEOPLE WHO COLLECT VINTAGE CARDS--THIS WOULD BE HARD TO FIND INFO FOR THEM--SEE ALL 4 PHOTOS FOR INFORMATION--PLEASE DO, IF YOU COLLECT CARDS.
Also note the naming of the most sought after publishers we all want now, and artwork. I will put representivive cards here-Maaybe you can enlarge the assortmen and see what cards of 1880s looked like. I think I have a Thos.Nast card there (Santa and Chimney)Top left first picture
Top right first picture, BUGS lead the floral arraingment! UGGH! Merry Christmas!!
All the cards carry some message about Christmas imprinted on them...and some of that printing is small I hope you can see, I can take less in a photo and post elsewhere.
Sorry, wrong lighting--I will re-do this afternoon in another area of the house. Then you WILL see the bright, vivid beauty of Christmas Cards past.
ALSO I FORGOT TO SAY MOST OF THESE CARDS ARE MOUNTED ON FINE WHITE CARDBOARD WITH FINISHED EDGES
*****Last lines of flyer cut off by camera are:
H.H. CARTER--Wholesale Stationer and Paper Drealer, No.2 Beacon St. Boston, Mass. and after a date-- 1884--so he must have updated the years on the uppermost part of flyer--but may not have changed the prices-- not the descriptions of the cards probably, Some of these I show had a date on back .1888.
I have the double fringed card mentioned on the flyer, FIRST CARD,LOWER RIGHT.
Fabulous old cards :-)
